Liverpool name price for star as Euro giants offer pass master swap deal - report
By Guy Giles
Barcelona have offered Andre Gomes to Liverpool as part of a deal to bring Coutinho to the Nou Camp, but the Reds are not keen and have named £132million as the price for the Brazilian star, according to a report.
Spanist outlet Don Balon claim that Coutinho remains the Catalan giants’ number one priority in the January transfer window, with Barcelona looking to finally secure the player that eluded them over the summer.
It is reported that Barca are also willing to sacrifice Rafinha, Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan in their attempt to prize away Liverpool’s prize asset, but Gomes is the only player offered so far.
Barcelona do not want to pay the quoted £132million, but Liverpool are reportedly opposed to the idea of Gomes as part of a player-plus-cash deal.

It is unsurprising that Liverpool do not want Gomes as part of a deal for Coutinho, as the Anfield club have plenty of central midfielders already, including the impending arrival of Naby Keita next summer. If any deal is to be struck then it is most likely that Barcelona will have to stump up some big money. Liverpool will want as much cash as possible as they look to shore up their dodgy defence and compensate for the loss of their best player, especially if a deal was to take place half way through the season. While Coutinho has knuckled down since seemingly wanting away during the summer, the player still has obvious designs on a move to the Nou Camp, and Liverpool are probably resigned to losing the Brazilian eventually. However, whether that is during January or next summer is yet to be seen.
