Liverpool news: 'Frightening' new signing claim after 'huge' Jurgen Klopp news - pundit

Noel Whelan has insisted Liverpool have given themselves a major transfer boost by tying Jurgen Klopp down to a new long-term contract.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker insisted the German manager is a “huge pull” for prospective signings.

As confirmed by Liverpool on Thursday (28 April), Klopp has committed himself to a new deal that runs until the summer of 2026.

His old terms were set to expire in 2024.

Whelan insisted Klopp’s new deal makes Liverpool even more attractive for new additions.

Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “There’s still work to be done there. As frightening as it sounds, they can get bigger and better and stronger, which is a worry for everybody else.

“He’s the key behind the success there. He’s built this team while he’s been there. They’re still building, they’ve brought Diaz in who’s one for the future and they’re looking to go to the next level again.

“You go to a club not because of the history but because you want to play for a certain manager? That is probably the biggest pull. Not just because it’s Man United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Man City or Liverpool.

“It’s who you’re working for and it’s not different to Pep Guardiola. Who wouldn’t want to play for Pep Guardiola and the style they play football?

“Who wouldn’t want to play for Liverpool and their style of play and how successful they’ve been? They’re building. Right now they are at the pinnacle of world football.

“The frightening thing is they’re gonna get better, stronger and more improved next season. So having Jurgen Klopp there is a huge pull for any player coming to that football club.”

In other news, pundit claims Klopp will be thrilled by what he has seen from “unhappy” Trent Alexander Arnold.
