Liverpool news: Pundit ‘stunned’ by reaction to Mohamed Salah during win – ‘I’ve never seen Klopp so angry’
Jurgen Klopp was furious at Mohamed Salah for failing to pass to a Liverpool teammate during their 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.
That is according to ex-Premier League striker Noel Whelan, who watched the Anfield boss volubly fume at his star player from the touchline as a slick counter-attack failed to result in a goal at the end of the first half.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, he noted Klopp’s reaction when Salah raced half the length of the pitch to close in on goal but opted to shoot from a tight angle rather than square the ball across the six-yard box.

The failure to make the best decision for the team also kept the score at 1-0 going into the break.
“I’ve never seen Klopp so angry,” Whelan told Football Insider. “He was emptying on Salah and making it quite clear that he felt he should have passed.
“Klopp isn’t one to hide his feelings on the touchline, if he feels something isn’t right, then you know about it.
“But I was still a bit stunned to see him hit out like that.
“Salah did look a bit sheepish, as he knew he probably should have passed rather than shot, as the angle was very tight.
“I’m sure a few words would have been said at half-time as well.”

Man-of-the-match Luis Diaz had scored the opener with a courageous header, although Salah did add his 28th goal of the season midway through the second period when he converted a penalty.
He was substituted shortly afterwards following an injury that required treatment before he hobbled unaided off the pitch.
