Liverpool news: Pundit swipes at Mohamed Salah as '£100m' claim issued after new update
Danny Mills has hit out at Mohamed Salah for claiming the delay on his new Liverpool contract is not about money.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England defender insisted Salah was “playing the game” with his latest comments.
The 29-year-old told FourFourTwo magazine today (22 April) the current sticking point is not financial.
Football Insider reported earlier this month (9 April) that Liverpool are close to a breakthrough in talks with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season.
“If you look at the Mo Salah situation it doesn’t look easy to sort out,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He’s come out and said it’s not all about the money then tell us what it is about then? That’s what I don’t understand.

“He’s playing the game a little bit. If you say it’s not about money then what is it about? What else can it be about then?
“The length of the contract is just money really. Let’s say the contract is worth £100million, it doesn’t matter if that’s a one-year contract or a 10-year contract. It just comes down to what you get a year.
“If it’s the length of the contract then take a shorter one on less money. That’s not going to happen so it is about money.
“You can’t have players dictating to the manager about recruitment. He can’t be saying ‘We need this, we need that’ and all the rest of it. It’s not that easy.
“He’s playing the game a little bit by saying that because I don’t see what else it can be about.”
