Liverpool now want to sign PL star with same agent as Darwin Nunez – sources

Liverpool have set their sights on Wolves full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri this summer to provide backup and competition to Andy Robertson.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Premier League giants are expected to start picking things up after a quiet start to the transfer window.

Signing a left-back is a key focus for Liverpool this summer according to sources, and Ait-Nouri has been named as a possible target.

The 23-year-old had a very impressive season for Wolves in 2023-24, playing 38 games in all competitions.

The Algerian established himself as a regular in the starting lineup and even contributed three goals and two assists as he showcased his attacking potential.

Traditionally a left-back, Ait-Nouri provides versatility by being able to play as a left wing-back or even as a left midfielder.

He is a client of Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency, which also represents Liverpool star men Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota as well as many Wolves stars.

Liverpool want to provide competition for Andy Robertson

Robertson has been a stalwart at Liverpool ever since he joined the Merseyside club in 2017, and was virtually untouchable under Jurgen Klopp.

The Scotsman has played 297 games for the club during his time at Anfield, providing 65 assists along the way.

Even though he’s under contract until 2026, sources believe that Liverpool are looking to provide some competition for the 30-year-old in the new season.

Liverpool are also looking to strengthen their attacking options at left wing, with Anthony Gordon being the main target for that role.

Football Insider revealed that the Reds could return with a second bid for the England international, but Newcastle United have set a total package of £100million for him.
