Liverpool on course to bank stunning £82.5m windfall – Keith Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Liverpool will bank a €100million (£82.5million) windfall if they win the Champions League.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted sponsorship bonuses and merchandising opportunities will only expand on that figure.
Liverpool have become the first club to qualify directly to the competition’s Round of 16 after winning all six of their league phase games.
As per Uefa documents, the Reds have banked a €11million (£9.1million) bonus after sealing qualification.
Arne Slot’s side are the bookies’ favourites to win the competition, ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Champions League win would be worth at least £82.5m to Liverpool, says Wyness
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “It could be almost 30 million euro to get out of this group stage – after that bonus is factored in.
“They’re getting 2.1 million euro for every game they win.
“I added it all up, if Liverpool go all the way – it could be worth 100 million euro. That’s a big, big number.
“That’s not even counting the sponsorship bonuses and the merchandise spin-offs.

“They are doing very well with their form right now and I’m sure FSG are sitting down and thinking that the numbers look very good.
“They’re doing it against decent clubs at this level and I hate to say it, but they’re doing well. Kudos to Liverpool.”
