Sunderland could prevent Liverpool from once again beating a newly-promoted team
Liverpool have only beaten a promoted side once this season.
Their late 1-0 victory over Burnley back in September remains their only victory over a new club this campaign, with even that win being delivered late in added time.
Since then, they have drawn to Sunderland, Leeds United twice, and then Burnley in mid-January.
Now, according to BBC Sport on 9 February, if Liverpool fail to beat Sunderland on Wednesday, it will be the first time they have failed to be a newly promoted side in five attempts since 1981.
If this happens, Slot’s time at Anfield is surely up.

A defeat could see Liverpool fall all the way to ninth in the table and out of the European spots altogether.
No European football next season would simply be disastrous; the Reds would surely dismiss Slot to save their season.
Liverpool’s record vs Sunderland explained
Liverpool boasts a fantastic record against the Black Cats in recent years.
The Reds are unbeaten in their last 11 meetings in the Premier League, with Sunderland last registering a victory back in 2012.
In fact, the Black Cats have only beaten the Merseyside club three times in the Premier League.
However, with Sunderland being the only team this season to have maintained an unbeaten run at home in the division, it will be a massive task for Slot to deliver three points.
