Liverpool on track to trigger £20m Mac Allister clause hidden in ‘small print’ – Kieran Maguire

Brighton will want Liverpool to win the Premier League and Europa League this season to trigger £20million of add-on clauses for Alexis Mac Allister.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the “small print” in Brighton’s accounts reveal that they are owed as much as £40million in add-ons.

Brighton published their 22-23 accounts last Tuesday (2 April) revealing a profit of £122.8million – a new Premier League record.

Documents also revealed that the South Coast club could earn up to £40million in add-ons or bonuses attached to deals for Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma and Alexis Mac Allister.

Mac Allister has made an instant impact at Anfield following a £35million move to Merseyside in the summer and is still in the race to win the Premier League and Europa League with the Reds.

Liverpool double will earn Brighton £20m in add-ons

Maguire expects Brighton fans to be singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” on the final day of the season in hope that Mac Allister will earn the club an additional £20million.

If you take a look at the small print of Brighton’s accounts, it says that they could earn up to £40million from add-ons,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

I believe the add-ons attached to the Alexis McAllister deal to Liverpool are in the region of £20million.

Liverpool

Therefore, if it comes to the last day of the season, expect to see lots of Brighton fans singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and wanting Liverpool to win the Premier League.

And now that Brighton aren’t in the Europa League – they will want Liverpool to win that as well because that will mean further money coming to the club.
