Sources: Liverpool agree terms on quadruple-your-money contract with Fabio Carvalho

Fabio Carvalho has agreed the terms of a quadruple-your-money new contract with Liverpool that runs for five years, Football Insider understands.

The Premier League giants have finalised the terms of a deal for the attacking midfielder, 19, and he will move to Anfield as soon as his Fulham contract expires at the end of the season.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Carvalho is in line for a “huge” pay hike that will quadruple his wages when he heads to Liverpool on a deal running until 2027.

This site revealed on 28 March that Liverpool had reached an “agreement in principle” to sign the Portugal Under-21 international before he became a free agent at the end of June.

They will pay an initial £5million to Fulham for Carvalho and that will be supplemented by a potential £2.7m of add-ons.

The blockbuster new deal is proof of how far Liverpool were willing to go after coming within a whisker of signing the rising star in January.

Carvalho underwent a medical at the end of last window and a fee of £8.4m was agreed but the transfer could not be processed in time.

There had been fears that Liverpool could be hijacked by a Premier League or European rival willing to meet Fulham’s asking price.

But the Merseysiders have remained in contact with the London club and the player, and have settled terms to avoid the transfer fee being decided by an independent tribunal.

Carvalho will be a free agent from the end of June but Fulham are due a compensation fee for development costs.

This site broke the news on 20 January that Liverpool were working on a deal to land the red-hot teenager after getting the green light from chief scout Barry Hunter.

Carvalho, who has been operating in a number 10 role, has been a key player in Fulham’s promotion push.

He has made 26 Championship starts among 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists.
