Liverpool plan to reject new Giorgi Mamardashvili offer as Alisson future undecided
Liverpool will not entertain offers for Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer amid uncertainty around Alisson’s future.
Mamardashvili has played second fiddle to Alisson in his debut season at Liverpool after officially joining from Valencia last summer.
He was handed a 13th appearance of the campaign over the weekend against Brighton in place of the injured Brazilian, but could not stop the Reds falling to a 2-1 loss on the south coast.
Several top European clubs are eyeing Mamardashvili ahead of the summer, but as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Liverpool do not plan to let him leave.
Liverpool’s transfer plans are shaping up ahead of this summer, and Alisson could well be on his way out despite recently having his contract extended to next year.

Sources have told Football Insider that Liverpool do not want to lose Alisson this summer amid interest in his services from Juventus.
Their latest one-year extension triggered in his contract has not quite ruled out a potential exit, and so Mamardashvili is not set to leave the club as he could end up playing a lot more next season.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “I’m sure he will be frustrated that he’s not playing regularly, but I think he’ll also be realistic knowing that if Alisson’s fit he will be first choice goalkeeper at Liverpool.
“There’s no better player to learn under right now if he’s continuing to develop working alongside Alisson as well.
“I’m sure there are clubs across Europe who would love the chance to sign a really established goalkeeper like Mamardashvili, but I don’t think Liverpool would entertain letting him go.
“They’re still seeing him as being that long-term replacement for Alisson.”
Liverpool ahead of Newcastle in Kees Smit race
Liverpool are targeting summer additions to their squad in several positions after a disappointing campaign, with a new midfielder believed on the agenda in particular.
Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch have failed to reach the lofty expectations set for them after helping the Reds win last season’s Premier League title.
Sources have exclusively told Football Insider that Liverpool want to sign Alkmaar’s Smit, as a result, and they are reportedly leading Newcastle in the race for his signature.
Smit has been a standout in the Eredivisie this season and emerged onto the radar of several top European clubs, while recently earning a maiden call-up to the senior Netherlands squad.
