‘Liverpool given glimmer of hope in Bradley Barcola hunt’

Premier League champions Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for PSG and France star Bradley Barcola.

According to talkSPORT [12 June], the Reds are plotting a £100million swoop for the 22-year-old Champions League winner.

Barcola notched 21 goals and 18 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions last term, helping Luis Enrique’s men win the treble.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could pay whatever it takes to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Barcola could leave PSG amid Liverpool transfer talk

Barcola proved his ability to perform extremely well under pressure in the latter stages of last season, as he notched an assist and two goals against Reims in the Coupe De France final, before making an assist against Inter in the Champions League final.

Meanwhile, speaking about the winger’s potential move to Anfield live on talkSPORT [12 June], Ally McCoist said: “’t think that’s going to happen (but) Barcola’s the one that probably could leave, because they play (Khvicha) Kvaratskhelia on one side, and (Desire) Doue on the other.”

The Reds could be in the market for a new wideman, as Luis Diaz could leave Liverpool this summer after scoring 13 Premier League goals last season.

Barcola can stay and battle for PSG first team spot

Amid the interest in Diaz, Liverpool may also sell Diogo Jota, which would further pave the way for Barcola to agree terms at Anfield this summer.

Barcola is an outstanding talent

As alluded to by McCoist, the 22-year-old faces fierce competition from both Kvaratskhelia and Doue for a starting spot in the PSG lineup.

Meanwhile, Enrique also boasts the option to deploy Goncalo Ramos as a striker, and play Dembele as a winger, potentially reducing Barcola’s game time next term.

However, by helping PSG win the Champions League, Ligue 1, and the Coupe De France, the former Lyon man should back himself to continue enjoying regular minutes in 2025/26 at the Parc des Princes.

Meanwhile, Arne Slot should be determined to retain the services of Diaz, after the Colombia international fired the Merseyside giants to Premier League glory, if Liverpool cannot land a deal for Barcola.
