Liverpool may be prepared to sell their midfielder Kevin Stewart, according to a report.
The Daily Telegraph claim that the Reds are in no rush to sell the 23-year-old, but they could be tempted if a significant offers comes in.
It is understood that the Merseyside club have put a £10million price tag on the defensive midfielder.
The report details that Brighton are interested in his signature as they prepare for a first attempt in the Premier League next season.
Liverpool feel they can recuperate a large £10million fee for their fringe player as they managed to get £15million for Jordon Ibe when he was solved to Bournemouth.
Stewart has been at Anfield since 2014 and has made just 20 senior appearances for the club.
The young midfielder has been unable to cement his position in the first team and made 10 appearances this campaign.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has shown a willingness to promote youth during his time with the club and Stewart is someone who has emerged under his tenure.
Football Insider verdict:
Liverpool certainly need to improve their squad next season and Stewart is one of several players that should be shown the exit door. The 23-year-old has shown some promise and looks a neat player, but doesn’t have the star quality to play in the Reds midfield. He is going past the point of being a young talent and a move to Brighton could be the best thing for his stuttering career. Liverpool should be able to bring in some stronger replacement, with a Champions League spot giving them a better chance of doing so. Stewart has been unable to prove himself as top quality and needs a fresh start.
In other Liverpool transfer news, they have moved ahead of their Premier League rivals for an international defender.
