Medical insider: Curtis Jones return not in sight after 'incredible' Liverpool blow
Liverpool will be unsure when exactly Curtis Jones will return from his latest shin injury.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.,
Jones, 21, has not featured for Liverpool in 2022-23 bar a one-minute outing in the Community Shield win over Man City in early August.
The youngster, who has been one of several absentees in the Merseysiders’ midfield in recent weeks, has been struggling with a tibia injury.
As quoted by The Mirror last Thursday (8 September), Jurgen Klopp revealed that Jones had suffered a repeat of the “stress reaction”.
The nature of the injury is such that the Reds will not be able to put a specific timeline on his return, claims Dinnery.

“This is a difficult one,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“It’s a stress-related response, which means it’s incredibly tough to put a specific timeline on it.
“These injuries are monitored on a daily basis, and a lot of the decisions are player-led in terms of acitvities and progression.
“You can go three or four days fine and then you have a flare-up and have to take a step back. That’s why you can’t put a timeline on these things. It’s just a case of having to work within the player’s pain threshold and go from there.
“You don’t want to see him sidelined too long. He was originally out for around three weeks and then there’s been this setback.
“They will want to identify what has triggered his response and look to midify training load accordingly.“
