Terms agreed: Liverpool could seal second summer signing on Wednesday – Sky

By Harvey Byrne

Liverpool could seal their second signing of the summer in the form of Roma attacker Mohamed Salah on Wednesday, according to Sky Sports.

The Sky Sports live transfer blog (Wednesday, 08.14am) has claimed that the Reds could complete a deal for the 25-year-old right winger as early as “today” with personal terms already agreed in a deal which is likely to cost somewhere in the region of £35million.

Salah has been heavily linked with a move to the Merseyside giants this summer and on Sunday KingFut claimed that the pacey attacker was jetting in for a medical this week.

It would now seem that the deal is close to completion and it would mark Liverpool’s second signing of the summer window after already sealing young forward Dominic Solanke in a move away from Chelsea.

Salah himself also played for the Blues between 2014 and 2016, but it was with Roma where he truly excelled in the last campaign, netting 19 goals while also providing 15 in 41 appearances in all competitions.

Football Insider verdict:

This signing would mark a major coup for Liverpool and would also help Jurgen Klopp’s team push forward even further. Now, attack is not necessarily where the Reds need to add to given their weak defence. However, the signing of Salah will bring a new dimension into the Merseyside giants’ forward line, while also helping to take the burden off last summer signing Sadio Mane. If both Mane and Salah can play on either wing with a natural forward in the centre the Liverpool team will certainly be considered strong contenders for the Premier League title next season.
