Liverpool set for ‘big change’ as new Ruben Amorim details emerge – sources
Ruben Amorim will be given time to implement his playing style at Liverpool should he become their new manager, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke explained that there will be a “big change” at Anfield this summer, both on and off the pitch.
Current manager Jurgen Klopp will leave Merseyside at the end of the season, with O’Rourke believing there will be a period of transition once his spell at Liverpool is over.
Sources told Football Insider on Thursday (11 April) that the Reds have agreed a deal in principle with Sporting Lisbon manager Amorim.
39-year-old to be given time at Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp era
O’Rourke explained that the Anfield faithful are well-known for backing their managers and allowing them time to get things right in the dugout.
He added that Amorim will undoubtedly be given that time should he take over from Klopp, even if results are not immediate for the new boss.
Former Benfica player Amorim guided Sporting to the 2020/21 league title, with another league success on the cards this season.
The Portuguese club currently occupy top spot in the table, four points clear of rivals Benfica with a game in hand.
They have lost just two league matches all season, with 23 victories and two draws to their name from their 27 matches so far.

Sporting are also in with a chance of Portuguese Cup success this season, having already clinched their spot in May’s final.
