Liverpool star Luis Diaz responds to Daniel Munoz after major Crystal Palace win
Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz posted a message on social media after his side beat Aston Villa.
The 28-year-old played 90 minutes and assisted a goal in the Eagles’ dominant 4-1 win over the Villains on Tuesday night (25 February).
Ismaila Sarr opened scoring in the 29th minute, poking home from close range after Emi Martinez parried a Chris Richards header.
Aston Villa thought they had equalised through Morgan Rogers, but after a long wait, VAR deemed Arsenal transfer target Ollie Watkins to be offside by a kneecap.
The England international had the ball in the back of the net again for the visitors in the 52nd minute, with this effort being deemed legal, levelling the scores.
Man United target Jean-Philippe Mateta kept his remarkable goalscoring run going, giving the Eagles the lead once again with his eighth goal in eight league games, in the 59th minute.
Munoz then assisted Sarr for the Senegalese wingers second of the game in the 71st minute, and with the game out of site, Eddie Nketiah scored his first goal for the Eagles in the 90th minute.
Daniel Munoz linked with Man City and Chelsea after Crystal Palace performances
Following the 4-1 dismantling of Villa, Munoz took to Instagram to share some photos of himself in action.
His international teammate, and Premier League rival, Luis Diaz, responded with two fire emoji’s in response to the right-back’s recent good form.
Munoz has been linked with a move to Man City or Chelsea, but Palace have no plans to sell the talented Colombian.
The defender was signed from Genk in Belgium for just £6.8million in January 2024, and has quickly established himself as one of the Premier League’s best defenders.

Crystal Palace put early season misery behind them with big Aston Villa win
Football Insider Verdict
After 14 games, Palace had only managed to accrue 12 points, and were nervously hovering over the relegation places, sat 17th.
Since then, Oliver Glasner’s side have found their feet, marching up the table, and with 27 games gone, the Eagles are 12th, with 36 points.
The disappointment for fans will be that it has taken this long for their team to find form, with European qualification likely out of reach thanks to that poor start.
