Liverpool star man to be ‘shipped out’ amid ‘massive’ Declan Rice claim – pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted Liverpool will be happy to “ship out” Fabinho to secure Declan Rice.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said the Reds will have to fork out a “massive” amount of money to get the deal over the line.

According to journalist Neil Jones, relayed by Anfield Watch (27 November), Jurgen Klopp’s side would need to sell Fabinho in order to facilitate a move for Rice.

The West Ham man is believed to be valued at upwards of £70million.

Fabinho’s current Anfield contract expires in 2026 whilst Rice’s contract at the London Stadium runs out in 2024.

When asked if Fabinho for Rice would be a worthwhile trade-off for the Merseysiders, Hutton told Football Insider:If they can get Declan Rice then yes I think it would be.

Fabinho is a fantastic player and has been a great servant to the club. But if you are looking long-term and you want to get someone like Rice, you might need to open up a gap within the midfield.

I still think it will be difficult, we are talking about a massive amount of money for any of these types of players. I think it would be a great move if they could get him in the building.

It would make the midfield stronger which is something they need to do. I think if they could get Rice in they would be happy to ship Fabinho out.
