Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold primed for ‘game-changing move’ after Conor Bradley development
Conor Bradley’s recent emergence could finally force Liverpool to move Trent Alexander-Arnold into a permanent central midfield role.
That is the view of ChelseaFanTV host Alex, who was speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast about Jurgen Klopp’s side – who defeated the Blues in the League Cup final on Sunday (25 February).
Bradley, 20, has made his breakthrough at right-back so far in the 2023-24 campaign, notching one goal and five assists in 13 appearances.
Alexander-Arnold has been playing in a hybrid midfield role for Klopp this term but is currently out injured.
The natural right-back has been tipped to play as a fully-fledged midfielder throughout his senior career and has done so with England.
ChelseaFanTV host Alex suggested Alexander-Arnold would have to play in a deep-lying role to show the best of his creative abilities.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track Podcast “We know Trent can contribute goals and assists at right-back, so why can’t he do it full-time in that midfield?
“The only thing I would say is that he would have to play him a little deeper so he can continue to whip in those crosses. If you play him centrally in midfield, I don’t see how you get the best out of him.
“Bradley is a good player, isn’t he?

“The main thing is trust, and the manager has given him trust. Even before the injuries, he was given an opportunity.
“It’s just painful to see a team like Liverpool still going strong with youngsters when Chelsea are struggling even after spending big money.”
