Instagram post from Liverpool fringe player suggests he will start against Manchester United

By Emma Sanders

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has hinted that he will be starting Monday night’s clash against Manchester United by posting an image on Instagram.

The German is expected to replace Giorginio Wijnaldum in the Liverpool starting XI after the Dutchman picked up an injury while on international duty.

Can has hinted he will be recalled to the team with a Instagram post where he claimed the fixture was “one of those games you dream of as a little boy”.

Adam Lallana is also an injury doubt and the absence of potentially two of Liverpool’s key midfielders means there is an opening for one of the squad’s fringe players to make an appearance.

Can was voted the club’s Young Player of the Year last season and became a highly valued player as the Reds reached two cup finals, coming runners-up in the Europa League and the League Cup.

He made 49 appearances throughout the 2015-16 campaign and Jurgen Klopp has openly voiced his admiration for the midfielder on several occasions.

Bute 22 year-old has not yet started a league game this season, making only three substitute appearances in the competition. The only match he has started for Liverpool was in the EFL Cup.
