Liverpool could land an added financial bonus this summer from the sale of Joe Allen to Stoke at the start of the season, according to a report.
The Telegraph claim that Stoke will be forced to pay Liverpool a fee of £500,000 if they finish in the Premier League top 10 this season.
Allen moved to the Bet365 Stadium last summer for a fee of £13million, but the two clubs reportedly also struck an agreement that would see Liverpool paid a further £500,000 if the club finished in the top half.
The Wales international midfielder, 27, has been a star performer for Stoke this season, contributing six goals and four assists from 33 appearances in all competitions.
He had made the decision to quit Liverpool last summer following limited first team opportunities, where he made just eight Premier League starts for the club last season.

Stoke have dropped to 12th in the Premier League table after three successive defeats, but are still within just one point of the top half.
They could move as high as ninth with a win over Liverpool, with Allen set to go up against his former club on Saturday.
