Liverpool sweating over fitness of 27-year-old ahead of Crystal Palace clash - report

Liverpool are currently sweating over the fitness of Daniel Sturridge ahead of the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo claim that the 27-year-old striker has missed several training sessions in preparation for the tie, and that a decision will be made on his availability on Sunday.
Sturridge has been a peripheral figure in the first team squad at Anfield this season, as he continues to be hampered by injury.
The England international has been restricted to just five Premier League starts, and has yet to feature for more than 80 minutes in a single league game this term.
But his latest potential setback could be of great concern for Liverpool fans, with the club already facing a number of high-profile absentees against Crystal Palace.

Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana remain sidelined with injuries, while the Merseyside club are also sweating over the fitness of Ragnar Klavan, Joel Matip and Lucas Leiva.
However, the potential absence of Sturridge in particular could have major ramifications for the striker’s future, with his lack of availability over the season fronting one of Jurgen Klopp’s biggest frustrations.
Sturridge has played more than 20 league games in a single season on just one out of his five seasons with Liverpool, because of a series of niggling injuries.
Therefore, he can no longer be relied on to be Liverpool’s prolific goalscoring outlet, and the club could seek to cash-in over the summer.
A win for Liverpool can move them nine points clear of fifth-placed Manchester City, and tighten their grip on a top four place at the end of the season.
