Liverpool tipped to strike near-£53m-a-year commercial deal after update – pundit
Companies will be “jumping at the chance” to strike a deal with Liverpool amid talks of a sponsorship change at Anfield.
The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Reds could agree terms on one of the most lucrative agreements in football.
As reported by the Athletic (18 April), Liverpool are in talks over a possible new shirt sponsorship agreement to replace the £40million Standard Chartered deal that expires in 2023.

The Reds are said to be looking for a more lucrative arrangement whether they extend or find a new sponsor.
As detailed by Statista (April 2021), Liverpool’s current deal is the sixth-highest shirt sponsorship deal in world football.
Real Madrid top the pile with a £53million-a-year agreement with Emirates and Hutton admitted Liverpool may not be “on par” in terms of commercial value.
However, he tipped the Reds to be “right up there” if they strike a new deal.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I know how big Liverpool are around the world. With that being said, I think there’ll be companies jumping all over them to try and sponsor them.
“They play in the biggest games in England, they play in the biggest games in Europe. They’ve played in the Club World Cup that goes all around the world.
“So everybody’s seen their label everywhere. I’m pretty sure there will be a lot of people that will be vying for that signature.

“There’s no doubt they’re a huge team. I think there’s something special when you Real Madrid, Barcelona. Liverpool have got an unbelievable history as well, but it’s just difficult to put them on par with Real Madrid.
“Liverpool are huge in their own right. They’ll still demand a high value and be right up there. They will try to maximise it, of course.”
