‘Liverpool to blow past £200m spend with Kerkez deal after Wirtz, then more to come’
Liverpool are planning to do plenty more transfer business this summer even as they close in on two major deals for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
The Reds are looking to strengthen their squad this summer, as they aim to build on the Premier League title they have just won in the 2024/25 campaign.
Liverpool have already confirmed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong, while goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will link up with the club, having been signed last year and then loaned back to Valencia.
Beyond that, the Anfield outfit are making considerable progress on more big signings, who will not be the end of the transfer activity either.

Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez deals close
Earlier this summer, it was claimed that Wirtz had turned down a move to Bayern Munich in favour of Liverpool, a deal that now looks to be close.
According to an update from The Times, the Reds have agreed an initial £100million fee with Bayer Leverkusen for the attacker, with the potential for up to £16million to be paid in add-ons.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have also been heavily linked with Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in recent months.
This report states that they are expected to push on with a move for the Hungary international worth £45million once they have completed the signing of Wirtz.
When combined with the investment on Frimpong and Mamardashvili, that is set to take the club’s spending well past the £200million mark.
While those are the signings that are currently in the public eye, it is also claimed that more additions to the squad at Anfield are being planned for the rest of the summer window.
In the wake of that, Slot is expected to sanction departures from Liverpool as well, with goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher having already been sold to Brentford.

Liverpool fans will delight in new transfer update
Football Insider Verdict
While Liverpool may have won the Premier League title at a canter this season, there was still a clear need to strengthen coming into the summer window.
Wins were not coming as convincingly as they ought to have been in the latter stages of the campaign, even before the title was sealed.
As a result, bringing in extra quality to arrest that decline will be vital to ensure they can have a good chance of repeating that feat next season.
Indeed, those connected with Liverpool will no doubt want to win more than one trophy next time round, and extra depth in the squa will hope cope with the demand of doing that.
It is worth noting none of those four already identified signings are a centre-forward, an area they surely need to strengthen to ease some of the goalscoring burden on Mo Salah.
Consequently, that may be one of the next areas Liverpool need to focus on once those deals for Wirtz and Kerkez are done.
