Liverpool ‘to let Harvey Elliott leave on loan with new midfielder signing’
Liverpool could be willing to allow Harvey Elliott to leave the club on loan amid speculation about his future in Arne Slot’s team.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that clubs could explore a short-term deal for Elliott.
The Reds still have high hopes for the 21-year-old’s future and are reluctant to see him leave the club permanently this summer.
Football Insider revealed on 23 January that Liverpool are set for Elliott contract talks as he will have just two years remaining on his deal come the summer.
However, despite their desire to keep him at the club, the midfielder is set to ask for assurances about his role at the club as he would prefer to be a regular in the starting XI.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Elliott is unhappy at Liverpool given his role in the squad and wants to leave in search of first-team football.
It has been suggested that a loan move could work for both parties as he would be allowed to showcase his talent ahead of a potential future in the Liverpool starting XI.

Liverpool to make Harvey Elliott decision
Brown told Football Insider in January that Liverpool are open to selling Elliott if he does not commit to a contract extension before the summer window opens.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that a loan move could be the best solution for all parties.
“Liverpool have to decide whether he’s going to be a regular in their side,” he told Football Insider.
“Does he get into their midfield ahead of the likes of Szoboszlai or Mac Allister?
“I think they like him as a squad player, who can come in and do a job, and I’m told they have high hopes for his development and future at the club.
“He’s had one of these spells where he’s been out injured for a prolonged period of time, and now he’s got to prove his form again.
“Is he going to get into the side enough to do that?
“I think there’s a possibility he could be allowed to go out on loan next season which would benefit all parties involved.
“It looks like they’re going to go and sign a new midfielder in the window as well, which is going to do no favours to his position.
“But Liverpool don’t want to dispense of him because they think there’s more to come.
“He’s still only young and will need regular game time to get to the level they believe he can get to – so I don’t think a short-term deal can be ruled out.
“And I wouldn’t expect there to be any shortage of interest in him in that case.”

Darwin Nunez keen to quit Anfield after Arne Slot decision
Elliott is not the only player who could be making a move away from Liverpool this summer, as Darwin Nunez is the latest player to have been linked with an exit.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 4 March that Nunez is unhappy at Liverpool after the club blocked a potential big-money move to Al-Hilal in January.
The 25-year-old is said to have been keen to discuss a potential move to the Saudi Pro League outfit, and Liverpool are expected to be more open to his exit this summer.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool want to sign a world-class forward and could cash in on Nunez or Luis Diaz to clear space in Slot’s squad.
