Kieran Maguire: Liverpool to secure Jurgen Klopp ‘legacy’ as ‘huge’ new hire imminent
Liverpool can now secure the “legacy” of Jurgen Klopp by boosting commercial revenues for years to come.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about how the Merseysiders’ on-pitch success is reflected in the commercial department.
Liverpool have seen sponsorship and merchandising income rise in line with their sporting performance in recent years.

They have won every major trophy available to them since Klopp arrived in 2015, and they trousered £266.1million in annual commercial income at the last count,
The club posted a job advert last Friday (12 August) for a new data analyst to drive insights and inform commercial decisions.
The Reds are now attempting to consolidate their commercial revenue by trading on their results on the pitch, insists Maguire.
“I think Liverpool are taking a very logical approach at the moment in order to leverage what they have done on the pitch,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“They have delivered trophies and they do have a brand that Jurgen Klopp believes is very appealing.
“Therefore, to take commercial advantage of that is the sensible thing to do. You can’t understate the importance of data here as well. It’s huge.

“If they don’t sign those deals, someone else will. Having boots on the ground will help sell just how good Liverpool are at present.
“It will also help to lock in revenues for a few years because we do find there is this legacy effect in football and you can trade off your success for quite a while.”
