‘Liverpool to sign Quansah replacement in January’ : Fans react amid Spurs clash
Jarell Quansah’s injury against Tottenham means Liverpool will be forced to sign a new centre-back in the January transfer window, a number of the club’s fans have said.
The Premier League leaders only added one player to their squad in the summer transfer window in Federico Chiesa, who struggled for game time, forcing him to shut down rumours of an early exit.
They are yet to make a signing since the market reopened at the start of this month, with Arne Slot insisting he is happy with his squad, but on the look out for opportunities to add to it (The Independent).
Now Liverpool fans are adamant the club will have to strengthen in one particular position before the market after what happened in their Carabao Cup clash with Spurs on Wednesday (8 January).

There have been fitness issues in the centre of defence for Slot’s side this season, with Ibrahim Konate only just returning from a layoff, and Joe Gomez currently unavailable.
Liverpool were handed another issue in that position in their semi-final with Tottenham, when Quansah was forced off after just half-an-hour due to injury.
Due to the issues around Konate and Gomez, it was midfielder Wataru Endo – who could himself be facing an uncertain future with the club – who was brought on to partner Virgil van Dijk in the heart of defence.
With that exposing their side’s lack of depth in that particular position, many supporters were adamant a new centre-back should be brought to Anfield while the window is open this month as they took to social media to react to the sight of Quansah’s injury setback.
While one suggested it would “be neglect” for Liverpool not to sign a centre-back in the window, others claimed they were at risk of having to use “someone from the U18s”.
