Liverpool told to ‘look at Phil Foden’ after journalist’s 19-year-old update – pundit
Kevin Campbell has suggested Liverpool should resist the urge to send Tyler Morton out on loan this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker pointed to Pep Guardiola’s development of Phil Foden as an example of why.
Morton, 19, made his debut for Liverpool in an EFL Cup tie against Norwich City last September.

The centre-midfielder has made eight further appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
According to Goal‘s Neil Jones (17 July), the Reds are likely to keep the teenager at Anfield as cover despite loan interest.
When asked by Football Insider if Klopp would be hindering Morton’s development with such a decision, Campbell said: “Not necessarily.
“This conversation has been had about many a player before. Look at Phil Foden at Man City.
“There was a lot of talk about him going out on loan and gaining experience but he didn’t in the end. He turned out alright!
“When you are at a Liverpool or a Manchester City, staying in the building can develop you more than going out on loan.

“You are playing with quality day in, day out and you pick up good habits from the top players. You can reach a level from training that you wouldn’t be able to playing week in, week out on loan.
“Jurgen Klopp might be right to keep him around for another season.”
