Liverpool told to sign Roberto Firmino replacement after source’s £80m reveal – pundit
Liverpool need to sign an upgrade on Roberto Firmino after they secure Mohamed Salah to a new contract, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Liverpool need a new striker as Firmino is “out of form” and Divock Origi is set to quit the club.
A source close to Liverpool told Football Insider last week (14 May) that they are confident Salah will sign a “huge” new four-year contract.

It is understood that the forward, who turns 30 next month, has compromised on his £500,000-a-week demands but still net over £80million over the course of his new deal.
His current agreement is set to expire at the end of next season and Sadio Mane and Firmino are also out of contract at the same time.
“If they can keep that front four together, Salah, Mane, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, then they are going to be there or thereabouts next season,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Still, I would bring in a striker to add into the mix with Origi going and Firmino out of form.
“They could add a top striker, that would really help them. That front four is really dangerous.”

Jota, Diaz, Mane and Salah have scored a combined 79 goals for Liverpool across all competitions this season as they remain in the hunt for a historic quadruple.
Firmino has found the net 11 times in 33 games but Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Southampton on Tuesday (17 April) was his first start in over a month.
