Liverpool transfers: ‘Mad’ Darwin Nunez update from top source

Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez is not expected to move to Arsenal before the transfer window closes, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Nunez being linked to the Gunners is “all smoke and mirrors.”

It is believed that nothing is going on between the two Premier League rivals currently, and there has been no contact regarding the striker.

Arsenal have no real plans for the 25-year-old, and this situation is nothing but “mad speculation.”

The Gunners have been linked with various strikers this summer and are in the process of selling Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace.

Liverpool will have Darwin Nunez’s services this season

Nunez was an unused substitute in Liverpool’s season opener against Ipswich Town but came off the bench against Brentford last weekend.

Despite the Uruguay international not breaking into Arne Slot’s starting lineup yet, he is expected to remain a Liverpool player this season.

Nunez has scored 33 goals and provided 17 assists in 97 appearances since joining the Reds and is under contract at Anfield until 2028.

Even though Arsenal aren’t looking to sign Nunez today, they could still end up signing a striker.

Football Insider revealed the Gunners are planning a shocking late move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

In other news, Liverpool will ‘definitely’ agree two late deals – Wyness.
