Liverpool v Man City: 'Massive' Mohamed Salah claim made after Klopp confession - expert
Alex McLeish has tipped Mohamed Salah to reignite his form for Liverpool against Manchester City on Sunday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland manager suggested the 29-year-old could rediscover his “massively dangerous” goalscoring talent in the top-of-the-table clash.
As quoted by Metro on Tuesday (5 April), Jurgen Klopp confessed it has been a “tough period” for Salah since returning from the African Cup of Nations.
He admitted the Egypt international is desperate to score with “all the stories” surrounding him at the moment.
Salah’s future has been the subject of much speculation, with Liverpool chiefs confident they can tie him down to a new contract.
McLeish suggested a high-pressure game like Sunday’s could see Salah return to his “predatorial” best.

Asked if he thought all the talk was a distraction for Salah, McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I mean, it hasn’t really distracted him despite this being a subject for a whole year.
“I think there are moments when players haven’t scored for a couple of games, then they come back again.
“Sometimes it takes a big game like this to get them back into their massively dangerous predatorial instincts.
“I don’t think that it would be a distraction for him. He seems a very mentally strong character, Salah. I imagine he would want to be at his best, regardless of the talks and where his future might be.”
Salah has scored five times in Liverpool’s last 11 games since returning from the AFCON.
The Reds sit one point behind Man City ahead of Sunday’s game at the Etihad Stadium.
