Liverpool want 'good slice' of White money from Brighton after Athletic reveal - Campbell
Liverpool will want “a good slice” of money received from the sale of Ben White if Brighton come knocking for Nathaniel Phillips.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Seagulls’ reported interest in the 24-year-old.
According to The Athletic‘s Andy Naylor (July 19th), Brighton are set to step up their interest in Phillips.
It is said Graham Potter and his staff see the Reds centre-half as the ideal replacement for Ben White, who is nearing an exit from the Amex Stadium.
Arsenal have agreed a £50million deal with Brighton for the transfer of Ben White and are expected to complete the move this month.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Brighton’s plans, Campbell said: “It’s very smart business.

“Phillips can definitely do a job in there and you get him for less than a third of the price you sold White for.
“That is what Brighton are good at. They make nice margins on their players. It is great business from them.
“But Liverpool will know Brighton got a big sum from Arsenal for Ben White, of course. They will be thinking they can get a good slice of that money. They’ll be like, ‘We want our money!’
“Let’s be honest, a deal is there to be done because Brighton need a centre-half and they can more than afford it.”
