Liverpool warned against taking ‘big risk’ after Ibrahima Konate development – pundit
Kevin Campbell has claimed there is “no chance” of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp swapping to a defensive three despite the return of Ibrahima Konate from injury.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said it would be “a big risk” to change the positions of the full-backs.
As reported by the Daily Mail (3 October), Klopp has considered tweaking his formation in light of his side’s defensive struggles.

Liverpool played in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Rangers and at the Emirates, where they suffered a 3-2 defeat on Sunday (9 October).
Konate made his return to action in the loss to Arsenal.
When asked by Football Insider if Konate’s return opens the door on the Reds playing three at the back, Campbell said: “No chance.
“Liverpool to change their system completely? No way. I cannot see it happening.
“The full-backs are key to what they do. The moment you go to three of the back you change the positioning of the full-backs. It would not be the same Liverpool.
“Why would you change the role of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson? They have been so dominant in that formation.

“You do not hit a blip and completely change the system. That is not good for the players. That is not good for a player who needs to play his way back into form.
“It would cause more disruption as far as I am concerned. Those players know that system. It would be a big risk to change to a back three.”
