Liverpool well placed to agree Marc Guehi last-gasp deal amid ‘£20m’ reveal
Liverpool are well placed to finalise a deal for Marc Guehi in one of two new signings before the transfer window closes at 7pm on Monday (1 September).
Liverpool had an official bid of £35million for Guehi rejected by Crystal Palace on Saturday (30 August).
However, Arne Slot’s side remain in advanced talks to sign the England international as they look to strengthen their defensive options.
Liverpool’s backroom staff are on standby to complete a medical for Guehi if a deal can be agreed with Palace before the window closes.
Selhurst Park chiefs are under pressure to sell the 25-year-old, with his contract expiring in June 2026.

Liverpool agree Alexander Isak deal
This article contains exclusive comment from Stefan Borson, a former financial adviser to Man City.
Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Alexander Isak, with the transfer worth up to £130million to Newcastle United.
Isak has refused to play for Eddie Howe’s side this season as he looks to force through a move to Anfield.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I don’t know what it is about this season, but a number of clubs are still looking to do big business.
“I mean, we could easily have Liverpool still signing two players.
“With Guehi, it looks very unlikely Palace are going to let that go until January and lose £20million to have him from now until January.
“And they’ll be lucky in January to get £20million for him, by the way.
“Are they really going to turn down, if Liverpool come up on Monday and say it’s £35million or nothing, are they really going to turn down £35million? I doubt it.
“So, Liverpool could buy two players.”

Liverpool to finalise two deals after transfer breakthrough
Football Insider revealed on 1 September Guehi is expected to follow Isak in joining Liverpool on deadline day.
Talks between the two clubs continued on Sunday (31 August), and there is an expectation among all parties he will be a Liverpool player by the time the window shuts.
Guehi scored in Palace’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.
