Liverpool’s Curtis Jones sends seven-word message to fans after remarkable twist

Curtis Jones has taken to social media to address England fans after scoring a remarkable goal on his debut.

The 23-year-old marked his full England debut with a clever backheel in the 83rd minute, sealing a 3-0 victory over Greece and securing all three points for his team.

Jones was one of three youngsters to receive their first caps, alongside Newcastle defender Lewis Hall and Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers.

After withdrawals from the likes of Cole Palmer and Phil Foden, Jones has set down a serious marker just before Thomas Tuchel takes over in the new year.

Curtis Jones makes a case for himself after England Debut

The central midfielder is enjoying a breakout season for both club and country, establishing himself as a key player for Arne Slot in a way he was unable to do under Jurgen Klopp.

With five goal contributions in 13 appearances across all competitions this season, he’s already just three shy of his total for the entire 2023-24 campaign.

Over the moon after his debut, Jones took to Instagram, to send a quick message to fans and remind them that there is still work to be done.

With the Republic of Ireland up next in England’s quest for UEFA Nations League glory, Jones has every right to believe he should once again be a key player for Lee Carsley.

There is plenty of competition amongst this young generation of England stars and Jones could be set to take a lot of people by surprise.
