Lloris is back but key Tottenham duo ruled out of Fiorentina clash

By Tottenham correspondent Tony Hughes

Harry Kane has been ruled out of Tottenham’s clash against Fiorentina on Thursday night due to a broken nose.

Maurcio Pochettino has revealed that the Spurs striker will play no part in the second leg of the Europa League last-32 match after injuring his nose during the team’s FA Cup defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend.

Kane was one of three first teamers who did not take part in training on Wednesday morning, along with Mousa Dembele and Tom Carroll.

Dembele came off at half-time against Palace with a groin injury and will not be risked against Fiorentina as Tottenham hope he will recover in time for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Swansea. Carroll has an Achilles injury.

Pochettino is hoping Kane will return for the Swansea match at White Hart Lane, but did not comment on reports that the striker will be forced to wear a protective mask to protect his nose.

However, Hugo Lloris is set to play on Thursday after missing Spurs’ last two matches with a shoulder injury.

He trained on Wednesday along with Erik Lamela, who has been absent with an illness.

Spurs have a crucial away goal in the Fiorentina tie after the first leg in Italy last Thursday finished 1-1.
