‘Locked in’ – Phil Foden reacts to Manuel Akanji’s update after Man City exit
Man City players such as Phil Foden shared a reaction to Manuel Akanji’s latest message on social media whilst away on international break.
It has been a summer of rebuilding at the Etihad, with Pep Guardiola overseeing major changes as they have seen Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish leaving the club
Akanji had also left Man City late in the window on a loan deal to Inter Milan, amid interest from AC Milan, Tottenham and Crystal Palace.
Allowing the Swiss international to leave could already be a move Guardiola comes to regret, with John Stones forced to withdraw from the England squad through injury, leaving City short of defensive options.
Even though Akanji has moved on, his former Man City teammates continued to show support for his latest update.

Despite Akanji leaving the City side on deadline day, the defender is now on international duty. He posted on Instagram as continue to prepare to face Slovenia.
He said: “Fully locked in for the next step — let’s do it again!” He saw his former teammates react to his message as Phil Foden joined Kalvin Phillips to share a like on the post.
The defender got on the scoresheet in the previous fixture against Kosovo and currently top Group B for the World Cup qualifiers.
As for Foden, he hasn’t been called up by Thomas Tuchel for England due to his latest ankle injury. However, there is confidence he will return for the Manchester derby on 14 September.

Man City stance on Pep Guardiola revealed
The club have had a poor start to the season with two losses in three games, which has led to growing scrutiny of Guardiola.
However, Football Insider revealed Guardiola’s future at Man City is assured despite their slow start to the new Premier League season.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Guardiola could face pressure at Man City, especially if results don’t improve after their rebuild, but reports now suggest the hierarchy will not make a quick decision on his future.
