Tottenham made their Premier League experience tell on Wednesday night in their fifth-round replay of the FA Cup with a 6-1 victory against League One opponents Rochdale.

A Fernando Llorente hattrick, coupled with a brace from Son Heung-Min, and a Kyle Walker-Peters solo effort ensured Spurs of their place in the quarter-finals of the world’s oldest and most prestigious cup competition.

But the result wasn’t enough to please supporters of the Lillywhites who bemoaned the performance of Harry Winks and felt he was not up to scratch.

It was a similar story in the first tie against Keith Hill’s side, where he alongside Moussa Sissoko received harsh words of criticism from the Spurs faithful.

The player, who has come through the youth set-up at White Hart Lane, was considered one of the club’s hottest prospects for his trickery in the centre of the park and his ability to see a pass.

Winks stared against Real Madrid in the side’s 3-1 win but has not managed to recapture that kind of performance.
