Lucas Digne sends two-word message to Aston Villa fans after Cardiff City win
Lucas Digne sent a positive message to Aston Villa fans via social media following a 2-0 win over Cardiff City in the FA Cup on Friday.
The Frenchman only got onto the pitch in the 83rd minute as Unai Emery’s side reached the quarter-finals of the competition, knocking out the Bluebirds in the process on 28 February.
Marco Asensio was back to his best at Villa Park, scoring both goals to sink their Championship opposition, netting both in the second half after a tightly fought affair in the first 45 minutes.
Marcus Rashford, who has already been tipped to sign for Villa permanently, grabbed his third assist in all competitions since joining the Villans, coming alive just at the right time.

Taking to Instagram [28 February], Digne wrote: “Next round,” with a green tick emoji.
The full-back has been in and out of Emery’s team in recent weeks, sharing the position with Ian Maatsen, who has certainly impressed since joining Villa from Chelsea in the simmer.
Unai Emery can bring more success to Aston Villa this season
Football Insider verdict
The Villans still have plenty to aim for before the current campaign ends, with a spot in the next round of the FA Cup just the tip of the iceberg.
Emery’s side next take on Club Brugge in the Champions League, looking to progress even further in European competition after such bright displays in the league phase.

Villa will also be looking to climb up the Premier League table before the season ends, with the club currently sitting 10th but only five points behind fourth-place Man City.
It would be a bit of a blow should Villa miss out on Champions League qualification for next season, but with the FA Cup and Premier League positions also to fight for, Emery is in the middle of a difficult balancing act.
Many supporters would happily give up a spot in Europe to lift the FA Cup trophy for the first time since 1957, but in football, it is impossible to please everybody.
