Lucas Paqueta in ‘dreamland’ as he jets in to West Ham after wearing iconic kit

Lucas Paqueta dispatched an emotional message on social media as he jetted back to West Ham following the end of the international break.

The West Ham midfielder has started the season in top form, scoring three goals in four matches across all competitions.

His strong start comes after a difficult few years following spot-fixing allegations against the midfielder, but Paqueta was cleared of any wrongdoing after an FA hearing. He is now considering suing the FA following the conclusion of his betting case.

Despite speculation surrounding his future during the summer, Football Insider revealed the club were handed a boost as Paqueta declared his desire to stay at West Ham.

While domestic football prepares for its return this weekend, the midfielder shared an emotional message marking the end of international duty.

Premier League stars react to Lucas Paqueta after World Cup qualifiers

Paqueta featured heavily for Brazil during the international break, scoring in their victory over Chile before also featuring in their recent defeat against Bolivia on 9 September.

Despite the mixed results, the midfielder shared an emotional and passionate message to supporters on Instagram. He captioned his post: “Very happy to wear this shirt again, thankful to God for another opportunity! Qualified for the cup, and we’re going for that dream”.

His message saw plenty of reaction as Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes and Chelsea’s Andrey Santos commented with heart emojis, whilst Savinho, Joelinton and Crysencio Summerville all liked the post.

He now returns to the London Stadium in preparation for their tie against Tottenham, and Potter will hope he continues his top form.

Paqueta was named in WhoScored team of the week for his performance against Nottingham Forest in their 3-0 win before the break – a result that earned the Hammers their first league victory of the season.

West Ham face Raheem Sterling blow

While West Ham were active in the transfer window in the summer, their pursuit of Raheem Sterling will likely have to wait.

Football Insider revealed that Sterling could be set to stay at Chelsea until January despite speculation over a possible contract termination.

His wages proved to be a stumbling block for the East London side during the summer, but negotiations could’ve continued if he were a free agent.

The Blues were unable to find a buyer despite West Ham’s interest, and with a termination now off the table, the East London club will have to revisit their interest in future windows.
