Lucas Paqueta posts West Ham message after source’s offer reveal

West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta provided an update to supporters despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his future.

West Ham endured a difficult campaign last season, finishing 14th in the Premier League, with Graham Potter now leading the team after replacing Julen Lopetegui as manager.

Their struggles were compounded by the uncertainty surrounding Paqueta’s future.

The FA are reportedly seeking a lifetime ban for Paqueta after issuing formal charges in May 2024 as the Brazilian is currently under investigation for alleged breaches of betting regulations, and a decision is expected in the coming weeks.

Amid the investigation, West Ham’s hierarchy have begun to consider life without the midfielder. Football Insider recently revealed that West Ham are now open to offers for Paqueta—though any potential transfer will likely hinge on the outcome of the case.

Still, the 27-year-old remains active and appears to be continuing his preparations for the new season and shared an update with fans, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Lucas Paqueta included in West Ham pre-season tour

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Paqueta has been included in West Ham’s pre-season squad as they travelled to Germany for their summer tour.

The Brazilian posted a brief update from the camp, sharing a photo of himself on his Instagram story taking part in a team activity, simply captioned with a German flag emoji.

The midfielder appeared in good spirits and a resolution could be on the horizon regarding his future. Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider that, according to his sources, the case is effectively closed and Paqueta is expected to be cleared of any wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, the midfielder had an underwhelming campaign last season, scoring five goals and failing to register a single assist. Whether he remains at the London Stadium for the upcoming season remains to be seen.

West Ham close in on Malick Diouf transfer

While Paqueta’s future remains up in the air, the Hammers are pushing ahead with potential new signings.

Reports suggest West Ham have reached an agreement with Slavia Prague to sign El Hadji Malick Diouf, with the deal expected to be worth around £22million plus add-ons.

Left-back has been identified as a key position to strengthen under Potter, and the Senegal international is viewed as a long-term solution as a move edges closer.
