Luis Diaz and Alisson Becker respond as Liverpool complete another signing
Luis Diaz and Alisson Becker were among the Liverpool stars to respond after the club confirmed a major new signing across social media.
Fresh off lifting the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s first season, Liverpool are showing no signs of slowing down in the summer transfer market.
Liverpool already completed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong earlier in the window, bringing the Dutchman in as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold following his move to Real Madrid.
Additionally, Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are also closing in on a deal for Milos Kerkez after months of speculation surrounding the left-back’s future.
Now, the club have officially confirmed another high-profile addition, which is the biggest signing of the summer so far, and several first-team stars have wasted no time reacting to the news.

Liverpool complete £116m deal for Florian Wirtz
On 20 June, Liverpool officially announced the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz in a club-record deal worth up to £116 million.
The club’s official account shared an announcement video with the simple caption: “From Leverkusen to Liverpool.”
The post drew plenty of attention, with likes from Diaz, Alisson, Alexis Mac Allister, and Wataru Endo among others.
Liverpool fans reacted with excitement after signing Wirtz, beating the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich to his signature. The 22-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign for Leverkusen in 2024/25, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists across 45 appearances.
He was also a key figure in Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga title-winning campaign the previous season, and now becomes a marquee addition at Anfield.
However, Wirtz will likely cost Liverpool in excess of £200m in terms of transfer fees, wages and potential add-ons in a significant financial outlay for the side.

Liverpool eye Marc Guehi as part of defensive overhaul
Following the arrival of Wirtz to bolster the midfield, the Reds are now targeting reinforcements at the back.
Liverpool are expected to make a move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, amid growing reports that Jarell Quansah is close to joining Bayer Leverkusen.
Football Insider revealed that Guehi has told friends he wants a switch to Liverpool and turned down an approach from Tottenham earlier in the window in the hope that the Merseyside club would step in.
With just one year left on his current deal at Selhurst Park, Guehi’s situation is being closely monitored by Slot’s team, who are preparing for a busy window as they aim to build on their title-winning campaign.
