Liverpool fans reacted with excitement after signing Wirtz, beating the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich to his signature. The 22-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign for Leverkusen in 2024/25, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists across 45 appearances.
He was also a key figure in Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga title-winning campaign the previous season, and now becomes a marquee addition at Anfield.
