Luis Diaz and Alisson react to Alexis Mac Allister announcement at Liverpool

Luis Diaz and Alisson have reacted to a new Alexis Mac Allister announcement emerging out of Liverpool.

The Argentine netted his seventh goal of the 2024/25 campaign in a season-defining match as the Reds came from one goal behind to win 5-1 against Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday, 27 April.

While the result piled even more pressure on Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, all three points meant Arne Slot lifted the Premier League title in his first season in England with four matches remaining.

Good news has just continued to stream out of Anfield, especially after both Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah signed new deals with Liverpool, and more positive announcements are being celebrated.

Taking to Instagram (1 May), the official Liverpool account wrote: “Oh Mac Allister. Our No.10 has been shortlisted for the April Premier League Player of the Month award.”

Luis Diaz and Alisson both liked the post as a show of support for their midfield teammate. The Argentine was also nominated for April’s Goal of the Month for his effort against Fulham.

Arne Slot to continue building after first Premier League title

Football Insider verdict

Slot has done an incredible job of taking over from Jurgen Klopp, especially after taking a 15-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, but supporters have been left wanting more.

Given that the Dutchman has been using a squad left by the previous manager, albeit a very talented one, the fans have not yet seen Slot’s true potential until he brings in players to fit his play style.

It has become clear that Darwin Nunez no longer has a future at Liverpool, with Diogo Jota, Ibrahima Konate, Wataru Endo, and Federico Chiesa all tipped to leave Anfield this summer.

The Reds were knocked out of both the Champions League and FA Cup at early stages, which is what has left fans wanting more from this team, and he will only be able to achieve that with support from the board.

Of course, he is more than capable of repeating the Premier League title lift again next season, but if another Champions League trophy is wanted, a multitude of players will need to be signed this summer.
