Luis Diaz, Daniel Munoz react to heartfelt message from new Wolves star Jhon Arias
Liverpool star Luis Diaz and Crystal Palace ace Daniel Munoz reacted to a touching message from Wolves’ newest signing Jhon Arias.
The Old Gold sold their talisman, Matheus Cunha, to Man United early in the summer transfer window after the ex-Atletico Madrid man’s stunning performance in the 2024/25 season.
However, given the Brazilian’s move happened so early in the window, Vitor Pereira‘s side have had plenty of time to identify a replacement.
Football Insider revealed back in December that Arias was on Crystal Palace’s radar, but a move to Selhurst Park failed to materialise.
But the Colombian’s stunning performances for Fluminense as the Brazilian side reached the Club World Cup semi-finals, before falling at the hands of Chelsea, led to a resurgence of interest in the 27-year-old.
Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider on 22 July that Wolves were expected to complete the signing of Arias, and the winger’s move to the Molineux was announced two days later.

Jhon Arias sends farewell message
The Colombian winger shared a message to Fluminense fans on Instagram, saying he would be “eternally grateful” to the supporters, the managers who had coached him, all the support staff, his teammates and friends, and the club president.
Arias then finished by saying, “this is not goodbye… see you soon!” and the post was liked by national teammates Munoz and Diaz.
Jhon Arias can be Wolves’ X factor
Football Insider Verdict
Of Wolves’ 54 Premier League goals last term, 15 of them came from Cunha.
However, the Old Gold did not just lose the Brazilian’s scoring contributions following the 26-year-old’s move to Old Trafford; they also lost their game-changer.
Cunha repeatedly scored game-winners with audacious efforts that few would attempt and was an on-pitch leader and motivator for a team that really struggled in the first half of the season.
But in Arias, Wolves look to have signed a player who can offer that same X factor that the recently departed Brazilian forward offered last term.
The Colombian was a star at the CWC, and whilst his goal-scoring output may struggle to reach the same levels as Cunha’s did, the 27-year-old is an effective assist maker, which will be a major boost for Jorgen Strand Larsen, and Pereira’s side as whole.
