Luis Diaz has the ‘sign’ after Pearce’s Liverpool claim pre-Inter Milan – pundit
Kevin Phillips has heaped praise on Liverpool winger Luis Diaz ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the 2000 European Golden Shoe winner said the 25-year-old “has everything” in his locker including a work-rate which is “second to none.”
Diaz was an unused substitute in Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Burnley on Sunday despite a stellar full debut against Leicester City in midweek.
As quoted by the Liverpool Echo (14 February), Jurgen Klopp revealed the Brazilian was only going to play if needed at Turf Moor.
The Athletic‘s James Pearce suggested (14 February) that the decision was taken with one eye on Wednesday’s trip to the San Siro.
Pearce expects Diaz or Sadio Mane to start on the left-flank for the Reds, with Jota and Mohamed Salah occupying the other two forward positions.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on Diaz’s start to life at Anfield, Phillips said: “I’ve been very impressed with Diaz.

“He has everything. He has height, pace and is technically very good on the ball. A player that looks very comfortable on the ball in tight areas. His work rate is second to none as well.
“The move has not phased him one bit. It looks like he has been there for ages and that is the sign of a top player, especially when you are coming on and starting for Liverpool. A lot of players would take time to settle because it’s a massive club.”
