‘Luis Diaz ready to quit Liverpool as medical update emerges’
Luis Diaz could now be ready to quit Liverpool after a medical update has emerged.
The Colombia international has spent the past three-and-a-half years with the Premier League champions after joining from Porto for an initial £37.5million in January 2022.
The 28-year-old has shown moments of brilliance during his stint on Merseyside, but he has lacked consistency at times.
However, Diaz recorded his best season in a Liverpool shirt in the 2024-25 campaign, where he registered 17 goals and eight assists in 50 appearances.
Arne Slot’s side are keen to keep hold of the winger this summer despite him being heavily linked with a move away from Anfield.
Football Insider revealed on 13 July Diaz has been in negotiations over a Liverpool exit following interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
The Reds turned down an offer worth around £58million for his services from Bayern earlier this month.

Liverpool to accept £69m Luis Diaz offer
Bayern have not given up in their pursuit of signing Diaz as they look to strengthen their attacking options this summer.
GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs reported on 23 July the Bundesliga champions are now set to make an improved offer for the attacker and are prepared to pay around €80million (£69million).
It comes after Football Insider revealed on 14 July Liverpool would consider a £69million bid for Diaz despite previously insisting he’s not for sale in this transfer window.
Slot’s side are making efforts to improve their forward line this summer, with Hugo Ekitike emerging as their top target after appearing to miss out on a deal for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.
Liverpool have agreed a deal worth £79million for Ekitike with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Sky Sports reported on Wednesday (23 July) the forward began his medical in London on Tuesday (22 July), and it is expected to be completed on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old registered 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances for Frankfurt last season.
Liverpool to green light Luis Diaz exit after deal agreed
The Ekitike deal could now pave the way for Diaz to complete his move to Bayern over the coming days.
The winger is clearly ready to make the move away from Anfield after reportedly holding talks with interested parties in recent weeks.
The fee in question will also help Liverpool balance the books following their heavy spending this summer.
The Reds will have spent close to £300million once Ekitike’s deal is completed, having already signed Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman.
