Luis Diaz sends Liverpool message after surprise transfer reveal
Luis Diaz has sent Liverpool supporters a message after their hard-fought victory against Wolves on Sunday (16 February).
The Reds remained top of the Premier League after defeating Wolves 2-1 at Anfield, but Arne Slot’s men were pushed all the way by their opponents.
Liverpool dominated the first half with goals from Diaz and Mohamed Salah putting them in a comfortable and commanding position heading into the break.
However, a 67th-minute goal from Matheus Cunha made for a difficult final 25 minutes where Liverpool had to hang on to claim all three points.
Slot’s men remain seven points ahead of Arsenal after 25 games as the Premier League begins to move into the business end of the season.
The Reds will now travel to face Aston Villa on Wednesday (19 February) before a crucial clash against Man City on Sunday (23 February).
Luis Diaz reflects on the hard work
Diaz dazzled at Anfield throughout the performance against Wolves, but his Instagram message showcased that the result was a tough one to grind out.
The 28-year-old said, “Hard work pays off” as he shared a picture alongside the man he won a penalty for in the first half, Salah.
Diaz played for 71 minutes at Anfield as he was 67 percent accurate with his long balls and made 36 attacking touches.

The Colombia international has been a crucial part of Liverpool’s success this season as Slot has relied upon him on the left wing as well as in a new centre-forward role.
Diaz has scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 35 appearances across all competitions so far.
However, Saudi expert Paul Robinson exclusively revealed to Football Insider that he believes Liverpool could end up selling Diaz in the summer transfer window in a surprise move.
