Andy Robertson, Luis Diaz react to Darwin Nunez message amid Liverpool exit talk

Andy Robertson and Luis Diaz have reacted to a message shared by Darwin Nunez amid Liverpool exit speculation regarding all three players.

Reds boss Arne Slot has shown he is keen to bolster his forward options with the recent addition of Florian Wirtz, and will also have to sanction player exits.

Meanwhile, Nunez scored just five goals in 30 Premier League appearances last term, adding further questions surrounding his quality in the final third.

Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Nunez is set to choose between a move to the Middle East or elsewhere in Europe amid interest from both the Saudi Pro League and Atletico Madrid.

The striker was handed just eight Premier League starts by Slot last term, showing how far out of favour he has fallen under the Dutchman.

Meanwhile, The Athletic revealed on Tuesday, 24 June, that Serie A champions Napoli are interested in Nunez and are set to submit an offer.

As the Reds close in on Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, Liverpool are planning to accept offers for Robertson amid interest from Atletico Madrid.

Slot could also face an uphill battle against Saudi Pro League interest in Diaz, but links to Barcelona have been scuppered by the Catalonian giants’ advances for fellow winger Nico Williams.

But amid the speculation surrounding his future, Nunez took to Instagram [24 June] to celebrate his birthday as he wrote: “26.”

The post attracted likes from both Diaz and Robertson, whose futures also appear in doubt.

Nunez departure can help Slot facilitate ambitious Alexander Isak swoop

After winning the Premier League title last season, Slot has already bolstered his ranks with the additions of Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong, as Kerkez is also set to join Liverpool.

But even though the Reds already boast a prolific attack, largely thanks to the exceptional efforts of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, the acquisition of an out-and-out striker would make the Merseyside giants all the more dangerous.

With that in mind, the Anfield club have set their sights on an ambitious move for Alexander Isak, who scored 23 goals in the Premier League for Newcastle United last season.

Even though the Magpies can offer the Sweden international Champions League football, Newcastle are worried by Liverpool’s interest in Isak.

Meanwhile, selling Nunez this summer would help Slot’s men sign the 25-year-old, whose presence would boost their chances of retaining their Premier League title.

Amid the interest from Liverpool, Newcastle have been tipped to sell Isak for £150million, while the Reds would break the British transfer record for a second time this summer if they completed such a move.

Elsewhere, football finance expert Dan Plumley exclusively told Liverpool News 247 that Slot could sell Andy Robertson as part of PSR cost-cutting measures.
