Romelu Lukaku has revealed he found Everton’s loss to Tottenham difficult to take as they came within a whisker of salvaging something from Sunday’s clash.
Lukaku, 23, got his name on the score sheet for the 18th time in all competitions at White Hart Lane, but failed to prevent the Toffees from losing their seventh league game of the season.
Posting on his personal Instagram account, Belgium international Lukaku claimed the loss was a “tough one to take” but is desperate to put it right in Everton’s next two matches.
Spurs secured all three points against the Merseyside outfit thanks to a brace from Harry Kane, as well as Dele Alli’s 15th goal of the season late on.
Lukaku struck after rolling defender Eric Dier before slotting him coolly during the second half, with Enner Valencia grabbing the Toffees’ other strike of the afternoon.

Everton next face West Brom and Hull City at Goodison Park, and former Chelsea goal machine Lukaku is keen to see his side gain six points from the Premier League encounters.
The loss to Tottenham has seen Everton slip away in their pursuit of hunting down the top six, with the Toffees now five points behind sixth placed Manchester United.
Lukaku is expected to lead the line again on Saturday, as Ronald Koeman looks to close in on Jose Mourinho’s United.
