Luke Shaw bids farewell after confirmed Man United exit news
Man United defender Luke Shaw took to Instagram to say his goodbyes to Marcus Rashford following his loan move to Aston Villa.
Rashford, 27, hadn’t featured for Man United since admitting he wants a “new challenge” following his omission from their 2-1 win over Man City earlier in the season, missing their last 12 games across all competitions.
The winger has joined Unai Emery’s side on loan for the remainder of the season, with reports suggesting Villa will cover 75 per cent of his wages, but won’t pay a loan fee.
Some Villa fans remain unconvinced by the deal, however, with many suggesting his signing could hinder the progress of one of their young stars.
Rashford remained a key player at United until Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag, starting 19 of his 24 games across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing three assists in his 1500 minutes of action.

The 29-year-old is having yet another injury-plagued season at Old Trafford, starting none of his three games across all competitions, and failing to provide a goal contribution in his 98 minutes of action.
Man United fans appear to share the sentiment, with many suggesting on social media that the left-back’s career at Old Trafford is over.
Shaw took to Instagram after Rashford’s move from United to Aston Villa was announced, simply saying: “Good luck my bro.”

Notably, only three current Man United players took the time to wish Rashford well, Shaw, Joshua Zirkzee, and Alejandro Garnacho.
United’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday (February 2) sees them fall to 13th with an FA Cup tie with Leicester on Friday (February 7) up next.
