‘Luke Shaw could quit Man United after huge Saudi offer’
Luke Shaw could leave Man United this summer amid interest from multiple Saudi Pro League clubs, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that the 30-year-old could be tempted by the “huge” money on offer.
Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, is willing to let the left-back leave should an acceptable offer arrive thanks to the emergence of Patrick Dorgu and Harry Amass.
Brown told Football Insider in December that United must make a decision about Shaw’s future amid ongoing concerns about his lingering injury issues.
The left-back missed 62 games for club and country between August 2024 and April 2025 [Transfermarkt] – but has been openly praised by Amorim after his return to fitness.
Despite his recent praise, there is a growing feeling that Man United are well-equipped to deal with Shaw’s exit and could accept big offers to raise funds.

Man United make Luke Shaw transfer plan
Brown told Football Insider in December that United planned to sign a left-back to replace Shaw and Tyrell Malacia amid ongoing concerns about the position.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Aston Villa, Tottenham and West Ham, has explained that Dorgu’s arrival has opened the door for Shaw to move on.
“Luke Shaw could be one to leave if Saudi clubs come calling,” he told Football Insider.
“There’s been a bit of speculation recently that there is interest in him in the Middle East.
“If no offers arrive, keeping him isn’t going to be an issue, because he’s a quality player and gives them that quality and experience on the pitch.
“It’s not like they’re forcing him out, he’s still a part of the squad and still very highly regarded.
“But if Saudi clubs are coming in and offering him huge money, I expect he’ll be tempted to make that move and United are in a good position to let him go.
“They brought Dorgu in to play in that wing-back position, and Harry Amass has come through the academy and played there a few times.
“If you’re considering him as a left-sided centre-back, then they’ve got Martinez, Heaven, Yoro, Maguire, De Ligt who can all play in that position.
“So from that point of view, they might decide to take the money knowing they’ve got cover.”

Tottenham plot move to sign Alejandro Garnacho
Shaw is not the only player who could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer, as speculation continues to surround Alejandro Garnacho’s future.
Brown told Football Insider on 29 July that Tottenham are readying a move for Garnacho if they lose Son Heung-min amid MLS and Saudi Pro League interest.
Man United are keen to sell to the highest bidder, while Spurs view him as an option to bolster Thomas Frank’s attacking options out wide.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League and has told his agent to find him a club at the highest level.
